About the Event

About the Academy

The National Indian Youth Justice Academy is a structured and immersive program designed to provide youth with leadership development, educational growth, and hands-on training in a disciplined and supportive environment. Participants will engage in daily activities, team-based learning, and guided instruction led by experienced professionals.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be an enrolled member of a federally or state recognized Tribe

  • OR a descendant of an enrolled member of a federally or state recognized Tribe

  • Must be 13 years of age by the start of the academy

  • Must not be older than 18 years by the end of the academy

  • Must currently be enrolled in school or actively working toward a GED

Program Details

  • All student costs are covered, including:

    • Airfare

    • Ground transportation

    • Lodging

    • Meals

    • Uniforms

  • Students are under adult supervision at all times

  • Participants are assigned to squads and must attend all scheduled activities

  • Daily classes and structured recreational activities

  • Recreation time provided each evening

  • EMTs and counselors available at all times
